Interaction Of Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride

Food and dairy products: Food intake does not affect the absorption of moxifloxacin. Therefore, the administration time of moxifloxacin is not affected by food consumption.
Anti acid drugs, minerals, and multiple vitamins: Taking moxifloxacin in combination with anti acid drugs, minerals, and multiple vitamins can reduce drug absorption by forming multivalent chelations with these substances. This will result in a lower concentration of the drug in the plasma than the predetermined value, therefore, antacids, antiretrovirals, and other preparations containing magnesium, aluminum, and other minerals such as iron need to be taken 4 hours before or 2 hours after oral administration of moxifloxacin.
Ranitidine: Taking ranitidine at the same time does not affect the absorption characteristics of moxifloxacin, and its absorption parameters (Cmax, Tmax, AUC) all indicate that moxifloxacin is not affected by gastric acid deficiency.
Calcium supplements: When high-dose calcium supplements are administered, only a slight decrease in absorption rate is observed, while the absorption range remains unchanged. The absorption of moxifloxacin by high-dose calcium supplements has no clinical significance.
Theophylline: Moxifloxacin has no effect on the pharmacokinetics of theophylline in steady-state, indicating that Moxifloxacin has no effect on the 1A2 subtype of P450 enzyme. When treated with moxifloxacin, the stable concentration of theophylline did not increase. Therefore, there is no need to adjust the dosage of theophylline when taking moxifloxacin.
Warfarin: It has been observed that taking both moxifloxacin and warfarin simultaneously has no effect on prothrombin time and other coagulation parameters.
Oral contraceptives: No interaction was found between moxifloxacin and oral contraceptives taken simultaneously.
Anti diabetes drugs: there is no interaction between glyburide and moxifloxacin when taken at the same time.
